Last month, we went to Israel for participating in butoh symposium at Haifa university and giving workshop and performance in university and eco art village. Meeting with many artist, dancer, performer, musician, theatre student, nice audience, the time passed so quickly. After all the schedule on the last day, we could take one day to drive the car under the sun scorching hot toward to the dead sea.
先月ハイファ大学での舞踏シンポジウムに招待され、また舞踏公演とワークショップのためにイスラエルに訪れた。公演は大学でさせていただき、またワークショップは、自然豊かなエコアートビレッジにて行った。様々なアーティスト、ダンサー、パフォーマー、音楽家、演劇の学生達、そしてあたたかい観客との出会い。あっというまに毎日が過ぎていった。滞在中の最終日にとれた一日は、肌がやけつくように熱い日差しのなか死海へと向かい車を走らせ走らせた。
Drove out on the road leading to the sandy beach from nowhere. Dead Sea. The Dead Sea is a salt lake. Elevation of the lake is under 418m sea level, and is said to be the lowest place on the surface of the ground. As going down the slope like the desert of sandstone, the landscape had spread like you've never seen. Then white desert of the past disappears, and red sallow canyon was lined with mountain waves in far distance. The earth surface on the shores of the dead sea layered as fault with many cracks. The blocks of stone became fossil. and fossil wood, shells, crystal of salt had been lying all over the place alone. There were craters on the earth like a lot of after meteorite fell. It became a pool of salt water in blue and green. Salt crystals were reflecting the sunlight under the water.
どこからともなく 砂浜へと続く道に抜け出した。死 海。死海とは塩湖であり湖面は海抜マイナス418mと、地表で最も低い場所だといわれている。砂岩の砂漠のような斜面をおりていくと 目の前に見たことも ないような風景が広がっていた。気づくとこれまでの白い砂漠地帯はなくなり、みわたす遠景には赤い土色のキャニオンの山なみが 立ち並んでいた。湖岸につづいている地表はたくさんの亀裂がはいった断層のように層をなしていた。化石になった石のかたまりや、木の化石や、貝殻、そして 塩のクリスタルがそこらじゅうに ぽつん ポツンと ころがっていた。大地には たくさんの隕石が落ちた後のようなクレーターがあり、そこには青色や緑色 の塩水のプールがひろがっていた。そして塩の結晶が水底や水面付近にも、小さく大きく、きらきらと 太陽をはねかえしていた。

空と踊り、地と踊り、そして水と踊り、照り返す太陽の光と踊る。

Dancing together under infinite blue sky, over the Dead Sea water surface, we
heard no sound from around.
死海で踊る。イスラエル人舞踏ダンサー タマー・ボレールとの踊り。竹之内は離れた砂浜からはじめ、タマーは水上の岩の上で始まる。無限に広がる青空の下で、死海の水上で、まわりはただ静かだった。

Because of the concentration of its salt, the organism can not live nearly in the Dead Sea. But it's said to be blessed with a very rich mineral. It was very quiet place and like a timeless world after long long journey. so beautiful moments.
その塩水濃度の濃さゆえ生物はほぼ生息できない。ただ非常に濃いミネラルに恵まれる水。とても静かだった。時のない世界のようだった。まるではるかな旅を終えた後の沈黙のような、世界の果てのような風景だった。そしてとても美しい時間だった。

Danced at the ancient cave. Enormous cave wall. Line of light from overhead. Subtle wind from nowhere. Shadow cave and light cave. All the surroundings and small tiny human being. We were in between this top of sky and the earth.
洞窟で踊る。巨大な洞窟の壁。頭上から差し込む光の線。どこからともなく吹き込む風。
影の洞窟と光の洞窟。すべてのこの周囲の環境と 小さな小さな人間の身体。
この空の上と この大地の 間に立っていることを感じる時間。
With finishing this tour, we felt and experienced and
inspired by many things, and we thought many things. Once again we like to
appreciate this time our organizer who invited us, and prepared all the
programme.
ツアーを終えて。この旅での様々な出会いや印象に残る風景やまた出会った出来事などがいまだ胸をめぐっている。 もう一度、今回招待していただいた、またすべての予定を企画主催いただいたオーガナイザーに感謝したいと思います。ありがとうございました。
This time for Haifa university students, we made workshop in the forest
on the mountain near university. There were participants from theatre department
and Asian study, and there were Jewish Israeli students and Arab Israeli
students. We have heard it is rare to take education together from childhood
for both of people. So meeting with them in the workshop, we were relieved. And
at the same time, we wished and imagined the future of these two races can also
be in both primary and secondary schools.
We have had opportunity to visit with performing and making workshop to Lebanon which is Arabic country and which locates next to Israel. Through this time visiting, we got deep prayer for this both peoples meeting and thought how they can accept each other and how they can stay together in middle east. For the moment we don't have answer. But we need to keep hope and wish.

今回ハイファ大学では、自然のもとでおこなったじねん舞踏ワークショップに、演劇を学ぶ学生、アジアについて学ぶ学生が参加し、またユダヤ系イスラエル人の学生とアラブ系のイスラエル人学生がともに参加してくれました。普段イスラエルでは こどものときからユダヤ系とアラブ系の人たちが教育をともにすることはまれであると聞いていたのでこの機会をえてとても喜ばしい気持ちになりました。今後は大学のみでなく 小中学校でもこの二つの人種がともに学べる未来を想いえがきました。
私たちは、これまで幾度かアラブ系の国でイスラエルと隣接する国、レバノンで踊る機会がありました。今回のイスラエルの訪問を通してこのイスラエルとアラブの国々とが一歩でも歩み寄り平和を実現できるようになることを深く祈らざるを得ない気持ちになりました。
